The official X account of Netflix Geeked revealed on Thursday, May 2, 2024, that Roblox will be working with Stranger Things and the live-action One Piece series. Regretfully, neither Roblox nor Netflix has provided any other information regarding the partnership.

The manga and anime of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece are incredibly popular worldwide. When Netflix saw how successful the show was, it created a live-action version of it. Thankfully, the series gained a lot of popularity. It appears that this success has prompted a partnership with the online gaming site Roblox.

The official Netflix Geeked X (formerly Twitter) account released a video teaser on Thursday, May 2, 2024, announcing a partnership between Roblox and two Netflix series, including the live-action One Piece series.

Fans were only treated to an animated sequence that appeared to be from Stranger Things and an animated rendition of Going Merry from the live-action One Piece series in the teaser video.

Apart than that, the movie only alluded to Netflix Geeked Arcade, an online gaming platform. Presumably, Roblox users would be able to participate in the collaboration through that area. Having said that, no such details have been made public.

Finally, the preview video did not specify the day on which viewers will be able to see the collaboration. The partnership was announced as a “coming soon” event in the video.

Unexpectedly, not every fan was thrilled to hear of the partnership.

Many Roblox enthusiasts thought the game was meant for younger players. Thus, in their opinion, the anime’s reputation would be tarnished by the series’ association with the game. Thus, a number of fans expressed their disapproval of the partnership.

Another fan expressed disappointment at Roblox’s One Piece partnership coming out ahead of Fortnite. As fans of anime are aware, Epic Games’ Fortnite has worked with a number of anime series, including Naruto, Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball Super, and My Hero Academia.

Fans were taken aback to discover that Roblox was the first to work with the anime live-action series, given the previous cooperation in this regard.

Some fans expressed how they would have rather that Fortnite had been given the chance to collaborate. They were nevertheless pleased that they would soon be receiving fresh material from the show.

Another fan attempted to hype up the partnership and Roblox by saying that the executives behind the series must have understood that the online game was the sole publisher of quality games for the franchise.
