He talked about the production episode of the anime “Yawaraka Sensha”.
“Reiji Yamada and Bagrabitz”
The secret story behind the production of the web animation “Yawaraka Sensha.”
Rarecho has produced many animation works using Flash and is active as a web animator. “Yawaraka Sensha” was selected as No. 1 in the Japan Media Arts Festival “100 Selections of Japanese Media Arts”. Rarecho looks back on how the “soft tank” was born.
Rarecho: I used to run a bulletin board system online, but it was so popular that various people came. However, sometimes troublesome people come. At that time, I drew a graffiti tank saying, “Retreat while spitting blood.” Initially, a tank descended backwards, leaving bloody vomiting on the ground.
Yamada: That’s the best (laughs).
Rarecho: After that, Livedoor-san asked me to make a cute animal thing, so I said, “OK!” And brought a tank animation. “I will make a stuffed tank with this” (laughs). It was a product like that.
Yamada: That’s good. I was asked for an animal, but I brought a tank. And soft.
Rarecho: I thought, “It’s a moving animal, isn’t it?” (Laughs).
Yamada: I think it’s a model for presentations. While following the line that the other side is thinking goes beyond (imagination). It’s soft and cute, but it’s a tank.
Why do you call yourself Rarecho?
Izawa asked Mr Rarecho about the origin of his name, but he commented, “I try not to answer.” What is the reason……?
Rarecho: I’ve said it in various media, but it’s never been used.
Yamada: I’ve heard that “reru” and “reru” come from. Maybe it was left somewhere on the net.
