The size of the Hallyu fan club is further expanded with artificial intelligence (AI). AI startup Lion Rocket plans to create a new K-pop culture with virtual human technology in China. TIG Company provides the fandom infrastructure in China. Through this cooperation, we plan to develop various fan club platforms, such as making video messages by turning Korean idols into AI virtual humans.
Ryan Rocket announced on the 8th that it had signed a strategic agreement with TIG Company to develop a ‘K-Culture Fan Club Platform’ in China. Both companies plan to open the door to a new K-pop culture incorporating AI in China.
Lion Rocket is a company that has its own AI virtual human and voice/video synthesis technology. Through this cooperation, we provide ‘TTS (Text to Speech),’ a deep learning text-to-speech synthesis technology. Based on this, we will introduce ‘Call Me, a 1:1 AI video message service. In Call Me, your favorite artist calls out the fan name, and it notifies you directly of various notifications such as welcome messages and events. All are 1:1 customized solutions that function as the artist’s original voice.
Tig Company is the exclusive licensee for me2day, the largest content platform in China. It is supplying original content and goods of Korean singers to China. It has about 26 million followers. It consisted of ‘Generation Z (1020 generation)’ mainly interested in Hallyu. With this agreement, we plan to utilize the large-scale fandom infrastructure of TIG Company.
In the future, AI technology will be further advanced to enable interactive communication with artists. In addition, it plans to provide more diverse experiences to K-pop fans in China, such as AI virtual human idol debut, online fan meetings, and concerts.
Jung Seung-hwan, CEO of Lion Rocket, said, “This agreement is meaningful in raising the status of the Korean Wave by combining K-culture and IT.
Hyeon In-ho, CEO of TIG Company, emphasized, “The fan club platform prepared through this business partnership will be able to serve as a bridgehead for not only existing stars but also potential K-pop rookies to advance into China.”
