It has been revealed that animation artist Yasuda Phenomenon’s first feature-length directorial work, ” Make a Girl,” is in production, aiming for a theatrical release in the summer of 2024.

Since 2013, Yasuda has joined the Nitroplus 3DCG team Polygon Banchou (now Nitroplus Arts). He became a freelancer in 2016 and worked as an animator for games such as “Hokkaido 3rd”. In 2020, his self-produced short film “Make Love” won the 29th CG Anime Contest, as well as his independent work “Isekai System.” In the same year, he worked on the music video for the song “I can’t be right” from “Zutto Mayonaka Ii ni.” as of August).

” Make a Girl ” is based on “Make Love,” which depicts a love story between Akira, a high school student who scientifically created his girlfriend, and No. 0, an artificial girlfriend. Image boards and setting materials have been released, and it can be seen that the character design of Akira and No. 0 has been renewed from “Make Love.”

Yasuda Phenomenon Studio was created by Xenotoon, a 3DCG studio jointly established in 2009 with Xenotoon, with Yasuda concurrently serving as the original scriptwriter and director. In addition to the director, a small studio with six full-time animators and modelers will complete a 90-minute (planned) cel-animated 3DCG feature-length animation.

At CAMPFIRE, crowdfunding has started aiming for the theatrical release of the same work. The target amount is 10 million yen. The rewards include:

  • A collection of setting materials (digital data).
  • An invitation to a preview showing the completion.
  • A plan to visit the production studio.

On the project page, comments from Yasuda and Koichi Kawase, the representative of Xenotoon, are also available. According to Kawase, the production of the same work is currently 45% advanced.
