Consider “The Boys” as an anime: This Upcoming Series Accomplishes That

“Go! Go!” is the latest anime series. A new take on the beloved Super Sentai and Power Rangers franchise is presented in “Loser Ranger!” The anime series has mature themes and a subversive storyline that makes it feel like Power Rangers meets The Boys.

The spring anime season is now underway, and while some of the major titles like Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia have not yet been shown, viewers still have a wide variety of original anime to choose from an anime about baseball to a never-before-seen isekai trope that is coming back as a goblin.

Hurry up! Hurry up! Another anime series that viewers should watch is Loser Ranger!.

The show is set in a future in which an extraterrestrial invading force was routed in less than a year thirteen years prior. The immortal shape-shifting grunts were the only invaders left alive.

These grunts have now been forced into weekly staged invasions of Earth as part of a truce. The Power Rangers of this world, the Dragon Keepers, have made these invasions into a lavish show with merchandise, advertising, and enormous popularity.

But underneath the gleaming surface is a reality that is less pleasant. Homelander from “The Boys” is remarkably similar to the Red Keeper, the commander of the Dragon Keepers. Both are well-liked public personalities who portray themselves as heroic heroes. But in reality, they are violent, nasty, and narcissistic, and they cover up their terrible deeds when they are not in the public eye.

Similar to Homelander’s contempt for humanity, the Red Keeper feels that the grunts from space, whom they mockingly refer to as “Dusters,” are inferior. Due to the Keepers’ brutality, they have gained the hatred of Foot Soldier “D,” a grunt who wants to get revenge on his oppressors; this is akin to Billy Butcher’s personal grudge against Homelander and Vought in “The Boys.”

“Go Go Loser Ranger” is an action-comedy that at first glance seems to be fun, but it really seeks to undermine the Super Sentai archetype by showing how corrupt power and celebrity can be.

Despite being relatively new, Yoar Pictures, an animation studio, produced an amazing first episode that deftly strikes a mix between fun and vibrant Sentai-style action, while also addressing darker overtones.

Both seasoned and inexperienced voice actors are included in the ensemble; Mr. Nakamura, the well-known voice of Gojo Satoru from Jujutsu Kaisen, provides the voice of the Red Keeper. Go Go Loser Ranger is only accessible on Disney Plus or Hulu if you’d like to view the series.
