September 27th was World Tourism Day, a commemorative day established by the UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization).

There are so many fascinating worlds in anime that you can’t help but want to visit them. They have scenery you can’t see; they boast delicious food and non-human inhabitants inhabit them… If you could visit the world of anime, which of these works would you like to see? So, Anime! Anime! Conducted a reader survey titled “Which anime world would you like to visit?” as we did last year. During the survey period from September 14th to September 18th, we received responses from 341 people. The gender ratio was about 35 percent men, about 55 percent women, and about 10 percent did not answer, so there were more women.

The age group was mainly young people, about 40 percent under 19 years old and about 25 percent in their 20s. Residents, scenery, gourmet food… Each world has its charm! The first place was taken by “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.” Its approval rating was about 10% and rose from third place last year. Many nations appear in “Tensei Slime,” but the most popular is the Jura Tempest Federation, created by the main character, Relm.

The appeal is that everyone lives together in harmony, with comments like “The diverse races, from humans to monsters, are all smiling, and it looks more fun than any other city I’ve seen!” and “The atmosphere is harmonious beyond the boundaries of races.” Some readers expressed a desire to try gourmet food incorporating Japanese culture, saying, “I’m curious about the taste of the dishes that recreate Japanese food,” some said they wanted to participate in the festival that took place in the show.

The second place was taken by “Bungo Stray Dogs.” Its approval rating was about 9%, the same as last year. Some fans are interested in the difference between reality and Yokohama, the setting of the work, saying, “I want to go to the Armed Detective Agency and enjoy the lively interactions of the detective agency staff,” “The exterior of the Armed Detective Agency is very stylish! It would be great to drink coffee made by the owner at Cafe Uzumaki on the first floor,” and “The retro atmosphere of Bungo Stray Dogs is wonderful. I love the scene in the work where Kyouka and Atsushi go around the famous places, so I’m interested in how it differs from the real Yokohama!” Comments said they would like to use their supernatural powers, saying, “I want to go to Yokohama, where supernatural powers are found.”

Third place: “NARUTO.” It has risen significantly from 15th place last year and was only a few votes behind second place. Many countries appear in “NARUTO,” but some people said they would like to visit the Hidden Leaf Village where Naruto lives.

“My hobby is taking pictures of the scenery of each country when I travel abroad, so I would like to make a photo book of the world where ninjas exist. Konoha, in particular, has a nostalgic townscape, so I think I can take good pictures,” and “Naruto is my favorite, so I would like to travel to the village where he was born and raised. I think Konohagakure Village, rich and blessed with hot springs, is ideal for sightseeing. During my stay, I would like to visit the shrines in the village and collect all the goshuin stamps.” I would also like to try Ichiraku, the ramen stand where Naruto’s favorite food is.

Here are some other comments! In the magical city of Oisarst in “Furier’s Parlor,” “Many wizards, from apprentices to first-class wizards, live there, and in the story, it is the setting for the first-class exam. There seems to be much to see, as you can meet wizards and many magical item shops.”

For Beika Town in Detective Conan, “I want to go to Cafe Poirot and eat Amuro’s ham sandwich. I’m a little worried about the high crime rate, but it’ll be fine if I can get along with Conan and the others!” For Hell in Hoozuki no Reitetsu, “Hell is generally scary, but in this work, the demons live happily.

There is an execution ground, but it is treated as a tourist attraction, so I would like Hoozuki to show it around.” For Animal Town in Wonderful Pretty Cure!, “It’s a town where humans and animals coexist, and I’m jealous of the various animals everywhere. I want to go to the petting park at the zoo!” There were also votes for titles currently airing. The 2024 edition, “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime,” aired a new episode this year and appeared at the top. There were also notable works such as “Pokémon” and “One Piece,” which had votes for multiple towns, islands, and regions.
