During the program, ABEMA will hold the Japan Anime Trend Awards Ceremony, where the winners will be announced in each category after rigorous screening based on data compiled by major media. The winner of the Anime Topic Award “Movie Category” has been decided to be “Haikyu!! The Movie: Battle at the Dump”.
“Japan Anime Trend Awards 2024” will look back on the trends 2024 and introduce the hot topics of 2025. Haraichi’s Iwai Yuuki will be the main MC, and Adachi Rika will be the sub-MC. Guests include anime-loving celebrities such as Tenshinhan Tairo, Tokui Sora, and Hamada Tatsuomi.
The “Movie Division” winner of the Anime Hot Topic Awards, which picks out the anime that captured the public’s attention in 2024, has been decided to be “Haikyu!! The Movie: Battle at the Dump.” It recorded a rocket start, attracting 1.52 million viewers and grossing over 2.2 billion yen in the first three days of screening. In less than three months since its release, box office revenues exceeded 10 billion yen.
This led to a long run of screenings that continued for more than six months. Ultimately, the box office revenue worldwide exceeded 20 billion yen, and the theme song for the movie, “Orange,” sung by SPYAIR, has been played over 33.55 million times on YouTube. The movie’s X (formerly Twitter) account achieved 1.89 million followers, and the film also became a hot topic on social media, which led to the award.
