The original “You’re Under Arrest” is a police comedy manga serialized by Fujishima Kosuke in Morning Party Special Edition (published by Kodansha) and other magazines from 1986 to 1992. The story depicts the efforts of a female police officer duo, Tsujimoto Natsumi (voiced by Tamagawa Sakiko) and Kobayakawa Miyuki (voiced by Hiramatsu Akiko), who belong to the Traffic Division of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sumida Police Station and struggle to solve various incidents that occur in the city.

The series began as an OVA in 1994, followed by the first TV series in 1996 and the second in 2001. A television series, “You’re Under Arrest: Full Throttle,” was also produced in 2007.
