‘Demon Slayer Theater Special Edition of ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ ‘will start in April, with screenings from the ‘Determination Arc’ to the ‘Pillar Training Arc.’

It has been decided that Demon Slayer Theater – Special Edition of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba will be held in April. The movie will be shown for the first time since its theatrical release in 2020, with a revival screening of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train.”

In preparation for the release of the first chapter of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Castle Arc” on July 18th, it has been newly announced that a specially edited version of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” from “Tanjiro Kamado: Unwavering Resolve Arc” to “Hashira Training Arc” will be screened in theaters from April 4th under the title “Demon Slayer Theater – Special Edited Edition of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie -“. The limited screenings will be held every week at 33 theaters nationwide.

In addition, a revival screening of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train will be held on May 9th. It will also be released on the first day in IMAX and screened for a limited time of 5 weeks at 423 theaters nationwide (370 regular theaters + 53 IMAX theaters).

This will be the first revival screening since the film’s release in 2020. It is also scheduled to be released in Dolby Atmos, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, and MX4D. For this screening, the entire film has been upconverted to 4K, and the Dolby Atmos and Dolby Cinema have been remixed, allowing you to enjoy a whole new theatrical experience.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is based on the manga of the same name, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020. It is a popular work that has sold over 150 million copies.

The story is set in a world inhabited by man-eating demons during the Taisho era. It follows the journey of Tanjiro Kamado, a boy whose family was killed by demons, who joins the Demon Slayer Corps to turn his sister Nezuko, who has become a demon, back into a human.

The TV anime “Tanjiro Kamado: Unwavering Resolve Arc” was broadcast from April to September 2019, and the movie “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train,” which is connected to the final episode of the anime, was released in October 2020.

The TV anime’s Entertainment District Arc will be broadcast in December 2021, the Swordsmith Village Arc in April 2023, and the Hashira Training Arc from May to June 2024. It has been decided that the movie “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Mugen Castle Arc,” which depicts the sequel to the “Pillar Training Arc,” will be produced as a trilogy.
