“Mono,” based on the original work by Afro, the author of “Laid-Back Camp△, “is being made into an anime. Broadcasting and streaming will begin at midnight on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Motorcycles and cars also appear as essential items. The story will appeal to many people, including motorcycle enthusiasts. I attended an advanced screening to report on that as well.

Mono is based on the original work by Afro, the creator of “Yuru Camp△! ” It also features motorcycles.

“Mono,” the original work by Afro-sensei, which has dramatically boosted the camping boom with “Laid-Back Camp△, “which has also been made into an anime and a live-action version, will be made into an anime and will start broadcasting on TOKYO MX and other stations from 24:00 on Saturday, April 12, 2025! Those lamenting that “It’s not broadcast in my area…” need not worry. It is also available on the ABEMA anime channel and the anime store’s terrestrial simultaneous broadcast.

This work, which is being serialized in “Manga Time Kirara Carat (Houbunsha),” is a “how to enjoy this weekend manga” that mainly depicts high school girls who belong to the “Cinephoto Club,” a combination of the photography club and the film research club. Using various techniques, such as shooting with a 360° panoramic camera and a pseudo-drone with a camera tied to a kite, we will cut out the scenery and their daily lives, mainly in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture.

In some scenes, one of the main characters rides a Yamaha YZF-R1 (fake bike) or WR250R (fake bike), which will appeal to motorcycle enthusiasts. Many locations are modeled after real places, including the Yamanashi Prefectural Science Museum, so it is recommended that you watch the anime and then go on a pilgrimage to the sacred places.

The director is Aike Ryota, who also directed “Jujutsu Kaisen: Kaitama/Tamaori/Shibuya Incident.” The character design is by Miyahara Takuya, who also worked on “Asteroid in Love,” and the series composition is by Yonaiyama Yoko, who also worked on “Asteroid in Love,” bringing together a group of popular creators. The up-and-coming Studio Soine joined the Aniplex x Houbunsha tag team to make the film. One of the main characters, Komada Hanako (CV: Kawase Maki), rides a YZF-R1 (fake bike) or a WR250R (fake motorcycle).
