Hachigatsu Hachi’s novel “In Another World, It’s Up to the Company Slave” will be adapted into a TV anime in January 2026. The teaser visual, teaser PV, and cast information for the series have been released. The animation will be produced by Studio Deen, with Ishihira Shinji as director.
“In Another World, It’s Up to the Company Slave” tells the love story of Kondo Seiichiro, a salaryman in his late twenties who gets caught up in the summoning of a saint, and Alesh Indrak, the leader of the Knights, known as the ” Ice Prince.” As Seiichiro works to rebuild the accounting department in another world, he ends up having Alesh “assimilate” his magical powers to him to escape a life-threatening situation.
This fantasy combines elements of alternate worlds, work, and BL. The original series has sold over 2 million copies and has also been adapted into a manga by Sai Kazuki. The teaser visual and teaser PV feature Seiichiro and Alesh. Itoh Kento and Maeno Tomoaki will reprise their roles from the manga PV. It was also revealed that Yamashita Seiichiro and Tochi Hiroki will appear as Norbert and Kamil, respectively.
Hachigatsu commented, “It’s an extraordinary feeling to see the story I wrote become a manga and then an anime.” Sai also contributed an illustration. Ito described Seiichiro as “someone who loves to work, and it’s ingrained in his life, so much so that he pushes himself too hard without even realizing it.” Maeno reflected on the filming of the manga PV, saying, “I vividly remember getting excited with the staff during the first PV recording for the comics, saying, ‘I’d love to see it in anime too!'” It has also been announced that Ito and Maeno will host the web radio show “Salon de Iseshachi.”
Additionally, a special edition of the web radio will be released as a paid bonus for the Animate Girls Festival (AGF) 2025. In addition to the two personalities, the special edition will feature guest Yamashita. Furthermore, on November 9, Ito and Maeno will appear on stage at the Animate Girls Festival (AGF) 2025. Comment from Hachigatsuhachi (Original Author): “The fate of the other world depends on the company slave” is being adapted into an anime. It’s a surprising anime adaptation, but it’s all thanks to everyone who supported me. Thank you. It’s a strange feeling to see the story I wrote become a manga and then an anime.
I want to thank everyone involved. Seiichiro, a company slave who can’t stop working even in another world, is treated like a weirdo in that world, and Alesh, who gets caught up in this and goes from being a cool character to a mother. I’m looking forward to watching the fun-loving group of friends in action together. Comment from Ohashi Kikka (Original Illustrator): Congratulations on the anime adaptation! As an illustrator and a viewer, I’m looking forward to seeing the characters in action. I’m grateful to have been involved in this work.
Sai Kazuki (Author of the Comical Version) Comment: Congratulations on the anime adaptation of “The Fate of the Other World Depends on the Corporate Slave”! Kondo remains obsessed with his work even after being transported to another world, and the knight Alesh can’t help but feel unable to leave him alone. I can’t believe we’ll be able to see the relationships that develop between the various characters from different backgrounds in an anime! As a fan of the original work, I’m genuinely looking forward to it. I’d also like to express my sincere gratitude to all the staff involved in the production. Ito Kento (voice of Kondo Seiichiro) Comment: It’s been a few years since I recorded the promotional video for the comic with Maeno-san. Since then, I’ve heard many people say things like, “It’s interesting!” and “I hope it gets adapted into an anime!” So I was thrilled to hear that the anime will be starting with the same cast. Seiichiro is what they call a corporate slave. He’s a corporate slave, but a positive(?) one. He loves to work, and it’s become a part of his life, which is why he pushes himself too hard without even realizing it. I’m sure many will empathize with him as an introduction to the series. Please watch over his strange experiences and the mysterious, irreplaceable encounters he has.
Comment from Tomoaki Maeno (Alesh Indrak): I’m Maeno, who will be providing the voice acting for Alesh. As with the manga PV, I’m thrilled to be working with the voice actors again. I vividly remember the excitement we felt when recording the first manga PV a few years ago, when the staff and I talked about how much we wanted to see it in the anime! The tempo of the dialogue between Ito and me in the manga PV was also very comfortable, and I will do my best to satisfy both fans of the original work and first-time viewers. I appreciate your support.
Comment from Seiichiro Yamashita (Norbert): I’m Seiichiro Yamashita, who will be playing the role of Norbert. While the “reincarnation in another world” genre is now mainstream, I felt this work brought a new perspective to the series. I’m happy to feel a connection to the main character’s name, lol, and I’ll do my best to support him in the role I play!
Comment from Tochi Hiroki (role of Kamil) Hello, I’m Tochi Hiroki, and the name “East” is written with “Earth” and “Land of the Earth” as the name of Kamil. This is an isekai BL, and although I haven’t done much BL work, I’ll do my best. Please look forward to it!
Comment from Ishihira Shinji (Director) Originally, I had several titles in mind. Still, DEEN’s Saito-san strongly recommended this one, saying, “This is interesting,” and that was the deciding factor for me to direct it. Due to the nature of my work, I have worked on many Narou-style isekai stories, but I was impressed that BL had made it into this genre as well.
However, Seiichiro’s lines and monologues are clever and logical, yet somehow unreliable, which is interesting, like a military strategist character in an MMORPG. I like this type of character, and I’m confident that the show will be exciting, so I’m enthusiastic about working on it. I’ve been careful to make sure that Alesh’s impression changes as his relationship with Seiichiro progresses from the first episode, making it a highlight. The characters are also diverse, and many of them have strong personalities, so you’ll never get bored. I particularly like Kamil, Zoltan, and Cipriano.
The few female characters, including Yua, are all seemingly stereotypical at first glance. Still, they’re not, and their appearance changes as the story progresses, so I’ve been careful to recreate the impression of the original. There’s plenty to see, including romance, intrigue, and strategy, so I hope you’ll look forward to it.
Comment from Yamada Akira (Assistant Director) I’m Yamada, assistant director of “The Destiny of the Other World is Up to the Corporate Slave.” I’m putting my all into this production as associate director. The story is set to be interesting, with a modern-day corporate slave struggling in an alternate world and gradually building warm relationships, as well as the interactions between the many amusing characters who appear. Please enjoy!
Yoshiko Nakamura (Series Composition) Comment: Our protagonist, Seiichiro, coldly views himself as a “corporate slave,” but I believe he is a “professional worker” who loves his job. Even after being summoned to another world, it’s refreshing to see him use his powers to solve various problems, and the gradual change in his relationship with Alesh, whom he meets there, only adds to the excitement of wondering, “What will happen next!?” I hope everyone will enjoy their adventures in the anime.
Maki Fujii (Character Design) Comment: When I first heard about the story, the powerful words “another world,” “BL,” and “corporate slave” made my mind freeze in a good way. I hope everyone will enjoy the fascinating characters and their BL life in an alternative world, and I hope to bring empathy and laughter to the protagonist Seiichiro’s corporate slave lifestyle!
Megumi Ohashi (Music) Comment: When I heard about this story, I thought, “Another world, BL, corporate slave??” (laughs) But after reading the original work, I was immediately drawn into the worldview. I created the music with careful consideration for the feelings of the characters in this alternate world, so I hope you enjoy that aspect as well.
