Visuals and two promotional videos have been released to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the TV anime “Mai-Otome.

“Mai-Otome,” an original anime produced by Sunrise, aired in 2005. This is the second installment of the “Mai-HiME” project, which also aired as a TV anime, and depicts the daily struggles of young girls to become “otome” (maidens). It introduces a “star system” in which characters from the previous series, “Mai-HiME,” appear with altered personalities and positions. It has been widely expanded into media mixes, including an OVA. Director Masakazu Obara also provided a congratulatory message.

The 20th anniversary visual is a new illustration by character designer Hirokazu Hisayuki, featuring characters such as Arika Yumemiya and Nina Wong. The two 20th anniversary promotional videos feature the opening theme “Dream☆Wing” by Minami Kuribayashi, who also voices Elstin Ho, and the ending theme “Otome wa DO MY BEST Desho?” by Mika Kikuchi, who voices Arika Yumemiya, and Ami Koshimizu, who voices Nina Wong.

The opening version looks back on the girls’ battles and memorable scenes, while the ending version looks back on their memories. Additionally, “My-Otome” series 20th anniversary print goods are now available through the e-print service on multi-function copiers installed at convenience stores.

The bromide and sticker sets with AR digital acrylic stands allow you to project Arika and other characters into the real world using the AR function of the “FanTop” app, allowing you to enjoy taking photos. Additionally, new merchandise featuring original illustrations by Hisayuki will be sold at the “Midobiyo!” booth at Comic Market 106. Pre-orders are also being accepted on the Midobiyo! Online shop until August 22nd.

Hello, fans, summer has arrived for My-Otome. Congratulations on the 20th anniversary. Thank you very much. Sorry. I’m sorry to be so harsh right from the start, but is this okay? It’s the 20th anniversary, but Fate, which is almost the same time as the series, has been going strong for the past 20 years. Given that, it’s only natural that there would be congratulatory messages like, “Wow, that’s amazing!” and “That’s great!” But what about this one? I don’t know if this is just My-Otome alone, or if it includes the later series like Zwei and Shiful, but it’s been left alone since it ended.

Was there a 10th anniversary? I was still working for Sunrise at the time, but I’ve never heard of one. No, that’s fine, but when they suddenly ask me to comment on the 20th anniversary, all I can come up with is, “Eh?” or “What?” What on earth are they celebrating? “It’s been 20 years,” “You’ve gotten old,” etc.? No, no, no, it’s fine from now on, so why not add a bit more substance to it? .

For example, it’s very presumptuous of me to bring up Kamen Rider Kuuga, which is having a retrospective exhibition, but Lyrical Nanoha, which was released around the same time, was rebroadcast adequately on TV intensively, right? And Mai-Otome HiME? What are you going to do? You can’t just make a few commemorative acrylic stands and be done with it. The fans won’t be happy.

I’ve never met them, though. They’re making a ton of money from Seed Theater and Sieg Axe, so shouldn’t they do a bit more to help the weak, or eliminate disparities? That’s the kind of world we live in. What do you think? Right? No, I’m not complaining or anything. I’m saying this with your company in mind, Sunrise? Oh, you have a different name now? I don’t care either way. Well, that’s why I put a lot of pressure on My-Otome HiME to make its 20th anniversary an even more fulfilling year. So, My-Otome fans, I did it, didn’t I? Congratulations on your 20th anniversary. Thank you very much. See you next time. {Continued from Space Leaper Girl’s 20th Anniversary Comments} TV Anime “My-Otome”
