This work is based on the manga “YAIBA” by Gosho Aoyama, who has created many hit works such as ” Detective Conan,” “Magic Kaito,” and “Banban 4 Third,” which was serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday from issue 39 in 1988 to issue 50 in 1993.
The action-packed story follows the wild samurai Tetsujin (voiced by Minami Takayama) as he seeks ever greater strength and pursues his samurai spirit, and has sold a total of 17 million copies across its 24 volumes. The TV anime “Shin Samurai Den YAIBA,” based on the original work, has been airing nationwide on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV at 5:30 pm on Saturdays since April 5th.
Episode 20: Monkey Basho’s Strategy
Having obtained six of the legendary jewels, Hajime and his companions are searching for the last one, visiting Aomori, the last of its kind. When they arrive at a particular temple, the jewels that Hajime and his companions are holding suddenly begin to glow, as if resonating with the last jewel.
To the surprise of the group, an older man calling himself Matsuo Basho appears, holding the final jewel they were looking for. A battle begins over the jewel, but Basho reveals his true identity and launches a petrification attack, which the group struggles to overcome.
