The broadcast date for the third season of the TV anime “Jujutsu Kaisen,” “Death Resurrection Part 1,” has been set for January 2026, and a teaser trailer has also been released. It has also been announced that the “Jujutsu Kaisen the Movie: Shibuya Incident Special Edition” and “Death Resurrection Advance Screening” will be screened in theaters. “Death Resurrection Part 1.” “Jujutsu Kaisen” concluded its six-and-a-half-year serialization in Shueisha’s “Weekly Shonen Jump,” with a total circulation of over 100 million copies (including digital versions).

The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2020 to March 2021, and the first film adaptation, “Jujutsu Kaisen the Movie 0,” grossed 26.5 billion yen worldwide. The second season of the TV anime, “Kaigyoku/Gyokuri/Shibuya Incident,” aired from July to December 2023, garnering significant attention not only in Japan but around the world.

In 2025, the “Jujutsu Kaisen: Kaigyoku/Gyokuri” movie compilation was released on May 30, and a remake of “Jujutsu Kaisen 0” is scheduled for release on October 17. A teaser trailer revealed that the third season, “Death Resurrection Part 1,” will air in January 2026. The video begins with Itadori sitting on a staircase, saying, “I can’t be with everyone anymore.” Following the Shibuya Incident, Itadori is wrestling with despair when Special Grade Sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu appears before him.

The fierce battle between Itadori and the protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, one of the most popular characters in the original manga, is depicted in a unique way that only an anime can. Fushiguro, Choso, Zenin Maki, and Tsukumo will also appear, raising expectations for the start of a new chapter, “Death Resurrection.” Additionally, “Jujutsu Kaisen the Movie: Shibuya Incident Special Edition” and “Death Resurrection Advance Screening” will be released in theaters on November 7.

This will be the first screening of a specially edited version of “Shibuya Incident,” which depicts the most significant battle in Jujutsu history and became a hot topic during its TV broadcast. Additionally, the first and second episodes of the third season of the anime will be shown for the first time, ahead of the TV broadcast.

The movie will be released sequentially worldwide. A key visual, drawn by production studio MAPPA, has also been released. It depicts Itadori with clenched fists and a stiff jaw, and Okkotsu with his back turned and a sword in one hand, against the backdrop of the devastated crater of Shibuya, evocative of the fierce battle of the “Shibuya Incident.” It has also been announced that the “Animation Jujutsu Kaisen Exhibition,” an exhibition where viewers can relive the “Kaigyoku/Gamaburi” and “Shibuya Incident” scenes from the TV anime “Jujutsu Kaisen,” will be held. It will be held at Ikebukuro Sunshine City from December 5 to December 29, with subsequent events planned in other cities. Additionally, a teaser trailer for the original story “Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade” smartphone game, “Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade,” has been released. The video shows Nanami and Itadori confronting an incident unfolding in the new setting, Jujutsu Island.

The story’s scenario is being supervised by Koji Seko, who also wrote the series composition and script for the TV anime “Jujutsu Kaisen” and the screenplay for “Jujutsu Kaisen 0 the Movie.” On September 23, the official “Fan Parade” broadcast will reveal further information, including the opening video for “Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade,” produced by MAPPA, and details about the artists performing the theme song. It has also been decided that “Juju Fest” will be held in the summer of 2026 as the finale event for the 5th anniversary of the anime “Jujutsu Kaisen.”
