An intermission video for Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway’s Flash: The Witch of Circe (released January 30, 2026), the latest film in the Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway’s Flash anime series (released in 2021), has been released.
The footage gives a sense of the enthusiasm at the time, including an interview with Ono Kensho, who played Hathaway, which was conducted when the first chapter was released, and footage from an exceptional live performance by [Alexandros], who sang the theme song for the previous film, “Senkou.”
As Ono Kensho once said, “I’ve stepped onto the starting line from which there is no turning back.” Hathaway is the son of a hero in the Earth Federation Forces. Still, he chooses to take on the role of Mufti.
This group resists the oppressive Earth Federation government by assassinating cabinet ministers, believing that “someone has to do something.” The mysterious girl, Gigi, then reveals a side of Hathaway as “a young man,” becoming a presence that shakes his resolve and choices. What fate awaits Hathaway?
This work strongly inherits the worldview of Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack (1988), which depicts the final battle between Amuro and Char. The story centers on the struggle between the anti-Earth Federation government movement “Mufty” and the intersecting fates of its leader, Hathaway Noah, the mysterious, beautiful girl Gigi Andalusia, and Federal Army Colonel Kenneth Sleg.
The first film, Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway’s Flash, released in 2021, was a huge hit, grossing over 2.23 billion yen. Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway’s Flash: Circe’s Witch features the most intense drama in the series’ history, as Hathaway, who is reminded of his past trauma by the young girl Gigi, is at the mercy of her words, but continues to prepare for his goal as Mufti: the attack on the Adelaide Conference.
