It has been announced that the theatrical versions of the hugely popular anime “Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha,” “Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection,” and “Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Detonation,” will premiere on terrestrial television on two consecutive nights starting January 1, 2026, on TOKYO MX.
“Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection” will air from midnight on the 1st, and “Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Detonation” will air from midnight on the 2nd. In addition, after the TOKYO MX broadcast, the shows will also be available for catch-up streaming on TVer.
This is to commemorate the broadcast of the all-new TV anime series, “Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance” (Gunbre), in 2026. The new work will be the first completely new work in eight years since the 2018 film version, “Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Detonation.”
The commercials for the program airing on both days will feature the first public appearance of “Gunblade” footage, as well as other new information.
“Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha” is a hugely popular anime series that began airing on TV in 2004. The story starts when the main character, Takamachi Nanoha, an ordinary third-grader, acquires magical powers and is drawn into a strange fate.
The series has been adapted into manga, games, and movies, and a project has been launched to commemorate its 20th anniversary.
