The anime adaptation of “Shota Oni” has been announced. It depicts the everyday lives of elementary school student Tsubaki, who earnestly strives to make her childhood friend, high school student Yu, excited, and Yu, who finds Tsubaki adorable. Nakayama wrote about the new title, “I chose a title specifically for the anime adaptation. At first, it was purely a hobby manga that I personally updated on social media, so I used an easy-to-understand category name as the title.
However, given the circumstances of using a broad category name as the anime’s title, I decided to go with “Me and My Brother Yu!” While the titles differ between the manga and the anime, the content is the same. And what’s more, it’s an even more wonderful anime, so I hope you’ll look forward to it!” Comment from Nakayama Yuki (Original Author): I’m grateful to have received so much support from so many people for the manga I drew as a hobby, which has led to the exciting future of it being made into an anime. Thank you so much! For this anime adaptation, I chose a title specifically for the anime.
At first, it was purely a hobby manga I updated on social media, so I used an easy-to-understand title. However, given the circumstances that would arise from using a category name as the anime’s title, I decided to use “My Brother Yu and Me!” instead. While the titles for the manga and anime differ, it may seem strange to those who have been familiar with the series up until now. The content is the same, and what’s more, the anime is even more wonderful, so I hope you’ll look forward to it! I myself look forward to seeing the story and the characters come to life! Please look forward to the anime “Me and My Brother Yu!” Comment from the TV Anime “Me and My Brother Yu!” Production Committee: This title was decided after repeated discussions with all parties involved in the adaptation, to reach as many people as possible.
After consulting with the original author, Miyuki Nakayama, we decided on “Me and My Brother Yu!” as a name that conveys the work’s charm, worldview, and characters, while also evoking a sense of familiarity.
