With the cooperation of Mr. and Mrs. Osamu Ikegami and Mr. and Mrs. Kazuko from Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture, who photograph the lids of design manholes nationwide, the museum has been holding a special exhibition since 2018. Mr. and Mrs. Ikegami have spent about 20 years visiting famous places in each region and disseminating the history and culture of each area.
In addition to the actual color manhole lids of “Gentiana” and “Kurokawa Community Center and Hitokura Charcoal” made by Kawanishi City, 34 photo panels were taken by Mr. Ikegami will be exhibited. In addition to popular anime characters, there are also thematic corners such as “dinosaurs,” “flowers,” and “castles.”
A commentary accompanies it on the sights and history of the shooting location, and many parents and children come to make it the theme of free research during the summer vacation. Director Hiroshi Maruyama said, “It is also good to plan a trip after the corona has converged through the manhole lid. I hope that the conversation of the family will be a catalyst for the momentum.”
