Set in the soccer J-League youth team, the comic “Aoashi,” which depicts the youth of high school students struggling to become professionals, has been decided to be animated. It will be broadcast on NHK E-Tele from April 2022. At the same time, teaser visual, teaser P.V., and principal cast information were released. Comments have also arrived from the cast.
The original “Aoashi” is a soccer manga of the same name by Yugo Kobayashi, serialized in the weekly Big Comic Spirits. It has exceeded 9 million copies in total, won the 65th Shogakukan Manga Award for the general public, and collaborates with the Japanese soccer world in many ways.
This time, it was decided to animate this work. Animation production is Production I.G., which deals with “Haikyu !!” and “Kuroko’s Basketball.” The director is Yo Sato, and the series composition is Masahiro Yokotani.
In addition, a teaser visual and a teaser P.V. depicting the main character, Ashito Aoi, and teammates who work hard at Tokyo City Esperion Youth will be released. In the video, the process of challenging the youth team’s enrollment test (selection) from the fateful encounter between Ashito and Esperion Youth Director Tatsuya Fukuda is depicted, and the character voice is released for the first time.
In addition, the first cast was announced. The main character, Ashito Aoi, is Koki Osuzu, the teammate of Esperion Youth, Eisaku Otomo, is Tatsumaru Tachibana, Soichiro Tachibana is Seiichiro Yamashita, Keiji Togashi is Taku Yashiro, Kanpei Kuroda is Shun Horie, and Asari Marchis. Atsushi will be played by Wataru Kato, Yuma Motoki by Junya Enoki, Ryuichi Takeshima by Kentaro Kumagai, Esperion Youth director Tatsuya Fukuda by Chikahiro Kobayashi, and Fukuda’s sister-in-law, Maki Kawase.
The T.V. anime “Aoashi” is scheduled to start broadcasting on NHK E-Tele from April 2022.
