Summer is the season for love. It may not be related to the image, but many love comedies or love-themed anime are broadcast in the summer of 2024. The flower of such genres is the heroine, and this summer is the whole. Some of them are unique characters not often seen in other anime.
Yanamin Anna (‘ There are too many losing heroines !’) ‘There are too many losing heroines!’ is a youth story about ‘losing heroines’ ‘ McCain ‘ who could not win the position of the lover of their beloved. The first heroine to appear is Yanamin Anna (CV: Tono Hikaru). She was rejected by her childhood friend, who she had a crush on from the beginning of the first episode. Because of the scene, she gets involved with the protagonist’s classmate, ‘Nukumizu Kazuhiko (CV: Umeda Shuichiro)’.
However, for now, she is just a glutton, which causes Kazuhiko a lot of trouble. She is a troublesome heroine, partly because she has no bad intentions. Still, thanks to the powerful illustrations in this work, she looks beautiful, which deserves applause. Next up are the sports-type heroine “Yakishio Lemon (CV: Wakayama Shion )” and the shy, tiny animal-type heroine “Komari Chika (CV: Terazawa Momoka ),” both of whom are unique “McCains.” What kind of love story will unfold between these unfortunate girls and Kazuhiko? At the moment, things are looking pretty uncertain, and it wouldn’t be strange if Kazuhiko just ended up getting involved, but these are heroines that you will want to keep a warm eye on.
Nanakura Rin (“Pseudo Harem”) The charm of “Pseudo Harem” is doubled…or rather, multiplied several times over, thanks to the power of the cast. She is the hope of the drama club. Because she has a crush on “Kitahama Eiji (CV: Okamoto Nobuhiko),” a senior who dreams of a harem situation like in the manga, she ends up playing a “character.”
The characters she plays are very diverse, such as “tsundere girl,” “little devil girl,” and “cool girl,” and they change all the time. Hayami Saori expresses them beautifully; you will be amazed at her talent when you hear her. It will be interesting to see how Rin (and Hayami) will play characters in the future and how she will close the distance with her senior without creating a character.
Jinguji Naori (“Love is not divided by twins”) The presence of little sister characters stands out in this summer’s romantic comedies, such as “Ayase Saki” from “Stepsister Life” and “Suou Yuki” from “My Neighbor, Arya-san, Who Sometimes Whispers in Russian.” Among them, the main characters, Jun Shirasaki (voiced by Shogo Sakata) and Jinguji Naori (voiced by Maaya Uchida) from “Love is Not a Twin” have a significant impact on the love triangle between them and the twin Jinguji sisters who have been friends with the family since childhood. Naori is a cute but cynical subculture girl, and when talking to people who share the same hobbies, she uses phrases that use her knowledge.
Even just when she is about to go to the movies with Jun, she says a series of stimulating lines such as “In the end, when it comes to time travel, Back to the Future is the best,” “I’m going to crash a Star Destroyer into you,” and “You damn Trekkie.” The tone of their geek talk is quite realistic, and depending on the viewer, it may feel like you are watching yourself, and it may tear your heart out. Along with the thrilling love triangle, which is difficult to predict, this is an element to pay attention to.
There are so many exciting heroines! In addition to the ones mentioned above, there are a lot of unique heroines, such as the housework robot “Mina” from “My Wife Has No Emotions,” the Russian beauty “Arya” from “My Neighbor Arya-san Sometimes Whispers in Russian,” and the additional heroines from the second season of “Goddess’ Cafe Terrace,” who are collectively called the “Dark Saints (Black Saints).” The summer anime of 2024 is already approaching the middle.
