The work is based on a Japanese-style fantasy epic by Nakanishi Motoo. Set in a world overrun with demons, the story follows Jinta (Jinya, voiced by Yashiro Taku), who plays Onikiri, as he encounters a mysterious demon who speaks of the distant future and travels through an incredible 170 years from the Edo period to the Heisei period.
The TV anime has been airing for two consecutive seasons since March on TOKYO MX and other stations. ABEMA is currently streaming it simultaneously on terrestrial TV.
Episode 10 “Rainy Hawk”
It was May 1855 (2nd year of the Ansei era). On his way home after drinking with Jinya, Naotsugu was sheltering from the rain under the eaves.
As he complained about how unlucky he was, a woman in a kimono and wearing a towel over her head walked in next to him. Naotsugu was utterly captivated by the beauty of the woman, who called herself Yotaka, and his cheeks turned bright red.
Then, a man appeared before their eyes. To Naotsugu, the man looked exactly like his brother, Sadanaga, and Yotaka said that he was “the man from his past.”
