This adult-oriented animated musical is set in the underworld, also known as Hell. Produced by Academy Award and Emmy Award-winning A24 Studios and Emmy Award-winning animation studio Bento Box Entertainment, it blends adult humor, unforgettable characters, and catchy musical numbers to create an original and unique world. Hell’s Princess Charlie (Erika Henningsen/Risa Shimizu) pursues the seemingly impossible goal of rehabilitating demons to resolve Hell’s overpopulation peacefully. After the annual angels’ demon-slaying, she opens a hotel in the hopes of guests “checking out” to Heaven.
While many in Hell ridicule Charlie’s ideals, her devoted partner Vaggie (Stephanie Beatriz/ Momoko Taneichi ) and her first test subject, porn star Angel Dust (Blake Roman/ Junya Hirano ), continue to support her dreams. Furthermore, when Alastor (Amir Talai/Setuji Sato), the feared “Radio Demon,” offers his assistance, Charlie’s wildest dreams come closer to reality.
After Charlie defeats the angels, the hotel becomes bustling with new residents, many of whom are staying for other reasons than to go to Heaven. As hatred for Heaven grows and sinners realize they have the potential to fight back, those seeking to exploit the tension between Hell and Heaven emerge. At the heart of this group is the “V Corps,” a trio of high-ranking demons.
While Charlie strives to protect the hotel’s goal (rehabilitating demons) and its public image, Team V, led by TV demon Vox (Christian Borle/Daichi Endo), plots to take over Heaven and place itself at the helm. In Heaven, angels are forced to deal with the repercussions of Sir Pensive’s (Alex Brightman/Yoji Ueda) redemption and the atrocities he committed against Hell.
The newly released Season 2 trailer begins with the TV demon Vox shockingly declaring, “War is coming. I’ve killed an angel.” While Charlie, the protagonist who runs the Hazbin Hotel, strives to redeem demons and help them live better lives, Team V, led by Vox, uses the hotel to plot a rebellion against Heaven. Will Charlie be able to prevent a great war between Heaven and Hell? The trailer also features numerous song sequences. Season 2 of the anime “Welcome to Hazbin Hotel” will be available exclusively on Prime Video from October 29th.
