Akaza and Douma from the movie ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ are hugely popular! The voice actors’ acting skills add to their charm: ‘It was thrilling’ and ‘I’m addicted to Miyano Mamoru’

The anime movie “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Castle Arc Chapter 1: Akaza Returns” was released on July 18th. The internet has been flooded with comments about the movie, with the scene featuring the upper-rank demons Akaza (voice: Ishida Akira ) and Douma (voice: Miyano Mamoru) becoming a hot topic.

This work depicts the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and the Upper Rank demons. As each story unfolds, opinions on Akaza and Douma are flooding the internet. Recently, new footage using cuts from the main story was released, with comments such as “I don’t like Douma, but I can’t hate Akaza! But I feel bad for Rengoku,” and “His acting was so good (obviously) that it gave me goosebumps.”

The internet is full of comments about the “Upper Rank Demons,” such as “And I cried so much… I’m exhausted from crying, “Douma is beautiful, but he’s also really creepy,” “Douma’s scumbag character really stands out,” and “I’ve become addicted to Hayami Saori and Miyano Mamoru, so I want to go see Demon Slayer again soon.”

“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” is based on a popular manga that was serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” from February 2016 to May 2020. Set in a world inhabited by man-eating demons during the Taisho era, the story follows a young boy, Kamado Tanjiro, whose family was killed by demons, who joins the Demon Slayer Corps to turn his younger sister Nezuko, who has also become a demon, back into a human, and slays the demon that killed his family. The total number of copies of the comics published worldwide has exceeded 220 million.

The TV anime “Tanjiro Kamado: Unwavering Resolve Arc” was broadcast from April to September 2019 and became a huge hit, leading to the release of the film “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train” in October 2020. It became a social phenomenon, grossing over 51.7 billion yen worldwide.

It was later adapted into a game and a stage play, with the TV anime “Entertainment District Arc” scheduled for December 2021, the “Swordsmith Village Arc” in April 2023, and the “Hashira Training Arc” planned for May to June 2024.

The film version “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Mugen Castle Arc” was produced as a trilogy, with “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Castle Arc Chapter 1: Akaza Returns” depicting the final battle between Tanjiro and the “Demon Slayer Corps” against their nemesis Kibutsuji Muzan and the Upper Rank demons in the demon’s base, “Mugen Castle.”
