by The new fall anime “Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II” will be streamed simultaneously with terrestrial broadcasting and exclusively on ABEMA starting October 4th (Friday) every Friday from midnight.
“Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online” is a spin-off of the famous light novel “Sword Art Online” (abbreviated as ” SAO”) by Reki Kawahara, which has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. It is “another SAO” created by Keiichi Sigsawa, the original author, and Kuroboshi Kouhaku, the character designer.
Set in the VRMMO “Gun Gale Online” (abbreviated as “GGO”) where Kirito and Sinon met in the second season of the “SAO” TV anime, the story follows Kohiruimaki Karen, also known as “Ren,” who has a complex about her height and descends into the VR game space to obtain a smaller version of herself, as she takes on the team deathmatch “Squad Jam” with her beloved gun “P90.”
When the first season was broadcast in 2018, the girls’ decisive gun action drew much attention in Japan and overseas. The second season, which will start airing in October 2024, will depict the story of the strongest team, “LPFM,” consisting of Len, M, Fukajiro, and Pitohui, taking on a new team-based death match.
ABEMA will simultaneously broadcast the latest episodes on terrestrial TV for free on the “ABEMA Anime Channel” every Friday from midnight starting October 4th (Friday). It will also begin streaming the latest episodes on its own. The latest episodes will also be available tor free for one week from midnight every Saturday, the day after the broadcast.
