The series has sold over 5.8 million copies (including digital copies). The wildly popular novel and comic, “Oni no Hanayome,” a Japanese-style Cinderella story about spirits, is being adapted into an anime.
On Saturday, September 13th, Aniplex held its online event, “Aniplex Online Fest 2025,” where the latest information was revealed, including a teaser trailer, the first studio-drawn visuals, the main staff, and the prominent cast members playing Yuzu and Reiya.
“Oni no Hanayome” won the Grand Prize at the 2023 “Comic Seymour Everyone’s Choice!! Digital Comic Awards 2023,” achieving the top spot for both the novel and manga for four consecutive months. Furthermore, it was ranked first for two straight years in the “Comic Seymour Annual Rankings 2022 & 2023” Girls’ Comics section and third place in the “7th Everyone’s Choice TSUTAYA Comic Awards.”
The cast members who will play the characters in the anime include Hayami Saori as Shinonome Yuzuko, an ordinary girl who spends her days unloved by her family, and Umehara Yuichiro as Kiryuin Reiya, the next head of the demon clan, the most powerful of the ayakashi.
The teaser PV depicts Yuzuko being treated coldly at home and Reiya’s encounter with her, who sees her as a potential bride, and also features Cato’s voice. In addition, the first anime visual of Yuzuko and Reiya, drawn by Colored Pencil Animation Japan, the animation production company, has been released. Other latest information, such as the main staff and cast, and broadcast schedule, is being released one after another.
