by The 64th episode of the anime “Re: ZERO” Starting Life in Another World- 3rd Season” has aired since March 12th. The scene where Wilhelm van Astrea (CV: Kenyu Horiuchi) conveys his love to his wife after 20 years of love-struck viewers called it “a divine episode that cannot be watched without crying.”
In episode 64, “Theresia van Astrea,” the supposedly deceased “former sword saint,” Theresia van Astrea (voiced by Minami Takahashi), engages in a swordfight with her husband, Wilhelm. Resurrected by the enemy as a corpse soldier, Theresia continues to wield her sword while losing her sense of self. However, she is fatally wounded and finally regains her sanity at the end.
As she died, Theresia’s husband Wilhelm told her, “There’s something I must tell you.” He then tearfully regretted not telling her his feelings until now, saying, “I’m not good at talking, and I can’t express my thoughts well, so I’ve caused you a lot of trouble… So I’ve never told you once for over 20 years… I may have caused you anxiety for 20 years!”
Theresa then smiled and said, “You have always said it. Your eyes, voice, attitude, and actions always…” Wilhelm finally conveyed his deep affection for his wife, “I love you.”
