The streaming lineup will include the first season of the TV anime “Fafner in the Azure” (26 episodes in total), the TV special “Fafner in the Azure: RIGHT OF LEFT,” the movie “Fafner in the Azure: HEAVEN AND EARTH,” the second season of the TV anime “Fafner in the Azure: EXODUS” (26 episodes in total), and the TV edition of “Fafner in the Azure: THE BEYOND” (12 episodes in total).
“Fafner in the Azure” is set on Earth, where an unknown life form, the Festum, has invaded and put the human race on the brink of extinction. The story follows young boys and girls battling it out with the humanoid weapon Fafner.
The anime’s first season was broadcast in 2004, followed by the one-hour TV special “RIGHT OF LEFT” in 2005. The movie version, “HEAVEN AND EARTH,” was released in 2010. The anime’s second season, “EXODUS”, was broadcast in 2015.
The third season, “THE BEYOND,” was screened in theaters from 2019 to 2021, and the TV edition will be broadcast in 2023. In the same year, the spin-off “Fafner in the Azure: BEHIND THE LINE” was screened in theaters.
