The first animated teaser video for the TV anime “Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki,” which will begin airing on 28 TBS affiliates nationwide in January 2026, has been released, along with information about the theme songs. UNISON SQUARE GARDEN will be performing
This work is about Takiguchi Yoi, a girl nicknamed “prince” for her good looks and thoughtful demeanor, and Ichimura Kohaku, a senior boy who is also nicknamed “prince.” It’s a love story between two men and women who are both called “princes.”
The teaser video, which marks the first time animation footage for the work has been released, depicts the meeting between Yoi, the girl nicknamed “prince,” and the other “prince,” Kohaku. UNISON SQUARE GARDEN will perform the opening and ending themes.
The opening theme, “Uruwashi,” and the ending theme, “Azalea no Kaze,” are both newly written songs. A comment from UNISON SQUARE GARDEN’s Tomoya Tabuchi, a fan of the original author, Mika Yamamori, also arrived. “Would the voice and sound of a rock band really suit Yamamori-sensei’s beautiful world? I was very worried when I heard about it,” he said, revealing the secret behind this tie-up. Comment from Tomoya Tabuchi of UNISON SQUARE GARDEN:
I discovered Yamamori-sensei’s work through a friend, Misaki Tsuno. I was so moved by each piece that I secretly started writing my own songs, but eventually it all came full circle. When I first heard about it, I was very worried that the voice and sound of a rock band would not really suit Yamamori-sensei’s beautiful world.
However, after speaking with Yamamori-sensei, Director Maruyama, and the rest of the anime staff, I realized that “the undeniable edginess that only a rock band can have” and “the sexiness that vocalist Kosuke Saito brings to the project are compatible with this work.”
With that in mind, I captured the melody and lyrics that emerged and completed the song. I hope to shine a faint light in the corner of the work and occasionally help out with the drama. We are UNISON SQUARE GARDEN, and we will be performing the opening and ending theme songs. We look forward to working with you.
