In addition, to commemorate the release of this film, a new short voice drama, “Juju Stroll: Cinema,” based on the original work by Gege Akutami, has been announced. A newly drawn illustration for “Juju Stroll” has arrived. An interview video featuring the cast members playing the first-year students, including Junya Enoki, Yuma Uchida, and Asami Seto, looking back on the 5th anniversary, has also been released.
“Jujutsu Kaisen” is a dark fantasy manga by Gege Akutami that depicts the battle between curses born of negative human emotions and sorcerers who exorcise them. The series began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2018 and concluded after 6.5 years in September 2024.
The total number of copies of the manga series, including digital versions, has exceeded 100 million. A near-future spinoff, “Jujutsu Kaisen≡ (Modulo),” based on a story by Akutami and illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki, began serialization in September 2025. A TV anime adaptation of the series began airing on the Mainichi Broadcasting System and TBS networks in 2020.
The second season, “Kaitama/Tamaori/Shibuya Incident,” aired in 2023, and the sequel, “Shimetsu Kaiyu Part 1,” is scheduled to begin airing in January 2026. Before the broadcast, a theatrical compilation titled “Kaitama/Gyokuori” was released in May 2025. Furthermore, on October 17, the revival of “Jujutsu Kaisen 0 the Movie,” which grossed ¥26.5 billion worldwide, began. Ahead of the third season, a specially edited version of the “Shibuya Incident,” the series’s most intense battle, will be screened for the first time, and episodes one and two of “Death Kaisen Part 1” will be shown for the first time in a specially edited version.
The film, which follows the Jujutsu Kaisen universe’s chronological progression, is also generating significant excitement. After the Shibuya Incident, Itadori is in despair as he is confronted by the executioner Okkotsu, a special grade sorcerer.
The video depicts Okkotsu’s overwhelming presence, closing in on Itadori with enough force to slice a car in half. In response, Itadori recalls a conversation with his master, Gojo Satoru, and imbues a makeshift knife with cursed energy, fighting back with all his might.
The intense battle scene between the two protagonists, both of whom share the same master, Gojo, only heightens anticipation for the film. To commemorate the release of “Jujutsu Kaisen the Movie: Shibuya Incident Special Edition” and “Death Kaiyu Advance Screening,” a new short voice drama, “Juju Stroll: Cinema,” based on Gege Akutami’s original work, has been announced.
The “Juju Stroll” illustration, explicitly created for this project, depicts Itadori Yuji, Fushiguro Megumi, and Kugisaki Nobara in a lively setting that’s a little different from the main story. “Juju Stroll,” a short voice drama set in the same world, will be a comical peek into the everyday lives of the three characters, with a movie theater theme. With the film’s release on November 7 fast approaching, a retrospective talk featuring the first-year cast members, Enoki Junya, Uchida Yuuma, and Seto Asami, who celebrated the fifth anniversary together, has also been released.
