It has been revealed that Yusa Koji will play Shin and Hayami Saori will play Yuria in the all-new anime “Fist of the North Star,” which is being produced to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the popular manga “Fist of the North Star,” a massive hit in the 1980s.

The first promotional video, showing Kenshiro and Shin facing off, and character image visuals of Shin and Yuria have also been released. The main staff has also been announced, with Maeda Hiroshi serving as director and TMS Entertainment producing the anime.

Yusa commented, “I never thought I would have the opportunity to appear in ‘Fist of the North Star,’ which I read as a teenager. I am very nervous because it is a work loved by many and has been adapted into various media.

This time, it has been adapted into an anime, so I am looking forward to it. I was able to express Shin as I felt him from the manga. I would be grateful if you could watch the new ‘Fist of the North Star’ that we have created together with my reliable co-stars.”

Hayami said, “I am extremely honored to be involved with ‘Fist of the North Star,’ which has been loved all over the world, and I approached the role with a sense of nervousness but also with great enthusiasm. I hope to express through my voice the deep kindness and love, as well as the inner strength and determination that Yuria possesses. I hope you will also pay attention to my interactions with each of the characters, including Kenshiro.”

“Fist of the North Star” is a manga written by Buronson and illustrated by Hara Tetsuo, which was serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” (Shueisha) from 1983 to 1988. Set in a post-nuclear war world ruled by violence in the year 199X, the story follows Kenshiro, the successor to the legendary Hokuto Shinken assassination fist, as he grows up and fights against powerful opponents, including his brother Raoh.

It was adapted into a TV anime in 1984, recording a peak audience rating of 23.4%. It became a social hit with famous lines such as “You’re already dead.” It also spawned a feature film and an original video animation (OVA). It was also made into a musical, which became a hot topic. The comic has sold over 100 million copies.

The new anime will be broadcast and streamed in 2026. It has been announced that Shunsuke Takeuchi will play Kenshiro, with Daiki Yamashita as Bat, M.A.O as Lin, Wataru Takagi as Jagi, Tsuguo Mogami as Toki, and Daisuke Kusunoki as Raoh. It will be broadcast and streamed in 2026.
