On the 19th, the four-member rock band GLAY held the final performance of their tour, “GLAY 30th Anniversary ARENA TOUR 2024-2025 “Back To The Pops” Presented by GLAY EXPO,” at Yokohama Arena, and thrilled the 12,000 fans who gathered.
This performance marked the start of the second half of GLAY’s 30th anniversary on May 25 last year, and the tour was held to promote their first album in about three years, “Back To The Pops,” released in October last year. Vocalist TERU (53) called out to the fans, “This (tour) has 15 performances, but it was a great tour. Let’s have a great night with everyone on the last day!” Afterward, guitarist HISASHI (52) declared, “I want to continue with GLAY until I die!” and TERU declared, “Let’s walk together through our 40th and 50th anniversaries! We will never end this dream,” and excited the fans.
They performed 24 songs, including “Yuwaku,” which they performed at the NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen on New Year’s Eve last year, their fourth appearance, their hit songs “Winter, Again,” “SOUL LOVE,” and the album’s lead song “BRIGHTEN UP.” The music video for “BRIGHTEN UP” was unveiled on the day. The video is a CG animation of the 30th-anniversary key visual created by Eiichiro Oda (50), known for the super popular comic “ONE PIECE.”
In addition, the titles of the two best albums to be released simultaneously in April have been decided as “DRIVE 1993-2009-GLAY complete BEST” and “DRIVE 2010-2026-GLAY complete BEST.” In addition, the album jacket photo, illustrated by Oda, was released. The songs to be included will be decided by fan voting starting at 7 pm on the day. Guitarist TAKURO (53) said, “If you have a favorite song, I would like you to vote for it,” and announced, “A song will be included that will be a reward for me as a musician.”
