According to the official X website, the anime will “faithfully visualize the world of ‘Fist of the North Star’ as depicted by Buronson and Tetsuo Hara, with new staff and cast and the latest video technology, without leaving out any of the charms of the original work!” The announcement was made a year ago on September 13, 2023, and one change that has occurred since then is that the part that read “Stay tuned for more news!!” has been changed to “Currently in production.”

“Fist of the North Star” was serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” in the 1980s. It depicts the life of Kenshiro, the successor to the legendary assassination fist “Hokuto Shinken.” It has been developed in various forms, such as anime, live-action films, and stage plays.

There were two TV anime series in the 1980s (Fist of the North Star, Fist of the North Star 2), and the last anime movie was “Fist of the North Star: Part 5 – ZERO: The Legend of Kenshiro” in 2008, so this will be the first new anime in over 15 years. In recent years, nostalgic works such as “Urusei Yatsura,” “Ranma 1/2,” “Hell Teacher Nube,” and ” Wingman ” have been remade into new anime one after another, and the latest “Fist of the North Star” anime is attracting the same attention.
