The first collaboration project between the TV anime “Kaguya-sama: Love is War – The Geniuses’ War of Love and Brains” and Toyo Suisan’s “Red Fox and Green Tanuki” has begun. Kaguya and friends liven up “Green Tanuki” as they enter the moon-viewing sales season.

The three-part collaboration movie is currently available, featuring Fujiwara Chika’s “Moon Viewing Rap,” reminiscent of the popular “rap episode” in the anime. There is also a chance to win original merchandise.

“Kaguya-sama: Love is War – The Geniuses’ War of Love and Brains” is a new youth romantic comedy based on the manga by Akasaka Aka. Set at a prestigious school where promising elites gather, it depicts a battle of wits and love between geniuses.

The total number of copies of the original series published worldwide exceeds 24 million, and it has been adapted into a TV anime series, with the first season released in 2019, followed by the second in 2020 and the third in 2022. It has also been adapted into a live-action film, with the first film released in 2019 and the final film in 2021.

Furthermore, a special screening of the sequel to the third season, “Kaguya-sama: Love is War The First Kiss Never Ends,” was held in theaters in 2022, generating a great deal of buzz. It was announced in June 2025 that a new TV special will be produced, making this a popular series that will keep fans on the edge of their seats.

The first collaboration between this series and Toyo Suisan’s “Akai Kitsune Midori no Tanuki” began on September 5, 2025. The event is held to liven up the Mid-Autumn Festival, a significant event held during the season of the harvest moon, and the Green Tanuki, who are participating in the Moon Viewing Sales War because “tempura resembles the moon.”

A collaboration movie was also released to coincide with the start of the series. The series consists of three episodes: Episode 1, “Shirogane Miyuki Wants to View the Moon,” Episode 2, “Fujiwara Chika Wants to Sing a Moon Viewing Rap,” and Episode 3, “Hayasaka Ai Wants to Talk About Moon Viewing and the Green Tanuki.”

In Episode 5 of the episode “Fujiwara Chika Wants to Sing a Moon Viewing Rap,” you can enjoy Fujiwara Chika’s “Moon Viewing Rap,” which is reminiscent of the much-talked-about “rap episode” from Episode 5 of the main series’ third season. On X, people seemed to enjoy the rap, saying things like “Secretary Fujiwara is fun,” “It’s been a while since we’ve seen him rap, it’s the best,” and “The moon-viewing rap is the best.”

There were also voices expressing joy at the reunion, with comments like “It’s been a while, and they’re still the same old two,” and “I didn’t think the Kaguya-sama loss would be over here.” There were also voices expressing anticipation for episodes four and beyond, with comments like “I want to see other movies!!” and “Please make an Ishigami-kun episode too.”

Toyo Suisan’s official X (formerly Twitter) account will be releasing these collaboration movies, and there is also a campaign going on where if you follow and quote the account, you can enter a lottery to win a “Light-up! Original Acrylic Stand.” Fans of Kaguya-sama should definitely take part. (C) Akasaka Aka/Shueisha, Kaguya-sama: Love is War Production Committee
