Kocchino Kento’s new song, “Kekka O-rai,” has been selected as the opening theme for the anime Vigilante—My Hero Academia ILLEGALS (TOKYO MX and others), which will begin airing on April 7th.
Kocchino Kento, who will release the new song “Kekka O-rai,” is the official spin-off series of “My Hero Academia” based on the comic by Kohei Horikoshi. Written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Arata Betsuki, it was serialized in Shonen Jump+ + from 2017 to 2022. Set in Japan several years before the story of “My Hero Academia,” it depicts the illegal heroes, “Vigilantes,” who cannot help but save someone even if they are not recognized by anyone, behind the “heroes” who are recognized and active by the people.
This is the first time that Kocchino Kento will perform an opening theme song for an anime. He commented, “I’ve always loved this work and have read it, so when I heard that I would be making a song for it, I was filled with happiness and gratitude that they chose me. I did my best to help the anime Vigilante.”
The song will be available for download from April 7th, the first day of the anime broadcast. Pre-orders (Pre-save/pre-add) started today. In addition, the official trailer video featuring the song has also been released. I’ve always loved this work and have read it, so when I heard that I would be making a song for it, I was filled with happiness and gratitude that they chose me.
This is also my first anime OP song. I am truly blessed to be able to walk with the main character, Haimai Koichi. I am very confident about the song. I did my best to help the anime Vigilante. I hope you look forward to it along with “Kekka O-rai.”
