“Hananoi-kun to Love Disease,” serialized in Kodansha’s “Monthly Dessert,” has been decided to be made into a TV animation in 2024. A heartwarming teaser visual that looks like Hotaru is about to jump into Hananoi-kun’s heart with a gentle smile was also released, along with congratulatory comments and illustrations from the original author, Moe Morino.

The illustration “Hananoi-kun to Love Disease,” released to commemorate the anime adaptation, is the first love of a girl who doesn’t know love and a boy whose love is too heavy, drawn by Moe Morino, who has sold over 3.8 million copies (including e-books)—the pure love story.

In the winter of the first year of high school, Hotaru Hinase confesses to Hananoi-kun in the next class because he casually lent his umbrella to him, and Hananoi wants to do anything for the girl he likes. Kun decides to go out with him for a limited-time “trial”…

The published celebratory illustration depicts Hotaru and Hananoi looking at each other’s faces and smiling, with the words “Congratulations animated!” and a comment from Mr. Morino sandwiched in the center. A cute design that makes your cheeks loose in the atmosphere.

Morino commented, “‘Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yyou’ will be an anime. Please enjoy the first love story of the fierce Hananoi-kun and Hotaru, who doesn’t know love.”
