‘Medalist’ TV anime season 2 to start January 24, 2026, with opening theme song HANA and voice actors for 10 new characters announced

It has been announced that the second season of the TV anime “Medalist,” based on a figure skating manga that was also chosen as the top manga in the comics category at the “Next Manga Awards 2022,” will be broadcast on TV Asahi’s late-night anime slot “NUMAnimation” from January 24, 2026.

It was also announced that the popular girl group “HANA” will be performing the opening theme “Cold Night.” A new visual featuring the main character, Yuzuki Inori, and 10 new characters was also unveiled.

The cast for new characters has also been announced, with Abe Natsuko playing Yagi Yuuna, Ito Maino playing Shinkawa Rinna, Naganawa Maria playing Roba Aika, Tanaka Minami playing Ushikawa Yotsuba, Tono Hikaru playing Risu Kurumi, Tanaka Takako playing Anaguma Sakina, Natsuyoshi Yuko playing Niwatori Sana, Yamamura Hibiki playing Okazaki Iruka, Kayano Ai playing Kurione Marika, and Aihara Kotomi playing Shachijo Riina.

“Medalist” is a manga by Tsurumai Ikada, serialized in the magazine “Monthly Afternoon” (Kodansha) since 2020. The story follows Akiura Michiji, a young man who has failed as a skater, and Yuzuki Inori, a girl who dreams of becoming a figure skater and aims to become a glorious medalist as both a coach and an athlete. The first season of the TV anime aired on NUMAnimation from January to March.
