The short animated film “A Journey to Return Home,” winner of the Grand Prix in the animation category at the Seisho Film Festival, will be released at the Shimokita Ekimae Cinema “K2” in Tokyo on August 1.
Directed by Taisho Muramatsu, whose previous work “Spring and Autumn Skies” won the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Tagore International Film Festival in India, the film follows the journey of a young girl named Mana, who traces the source of a “voice” she hears while gazing at the night sky with her childhood friend. Muramatsu single-handedly handled the animation, composition, editing, and scriptwriting for the film, which took four years to produce.
The voice cast includes Asano Ruri, Tanaka Otoo, Megu, Belveru☆, Mochizuki Hide, Nanahara Teiko, Waku Rika, and Kusanagi Kenta. A talk show featuring Muramatsu and cast member Megu will be held during the screening period. Tickets are on sale on the theater’s official website. For more details, please see below.
The character “nagi” in Kusanagi Kenta’s name is written with the old character for “bow” and a sword underneath.
