The original TV anime “Eternal Yugure” is scheduled to begin airing on September 25th. It has also been announced that Miyu Tomita will appear in the series, and that the opening theme song will be “Platform” by singer Uru. The first promotional video and key visual have also been released.

The series is a sci-fi love story by PAWORKS, known for “SHIROBAKO” and “Na Nare Hana Nare.” Akira Himegami (voiced by Shuichiro Umeda), a high school boy in a state of cold sleep, lives in a world roughly 200 years old, where people are controlled by a unified organization called OWEL. He meets and proposes to an android named Yugure (Yui Ishikawa), who closely resembles his beloved childhood friend, Towasa Oh (Ai Kayano). Though Akira is confused, he decides to embark on a journey with Yugure to find Towasa, who is believed to be somewhere in the world. Tomita will play Amor, a girl whom Akira and Yugure meet during their journey. She is searching for a picture book that her parents once drew, but that is now banned in the future world.

The first trailer shows Akira waking up in the future, meeting Yugure, and setting off on a journey from Hakodate to Tokyo. The trailer offers a glimpse into the culture and worldview of the story, including the new system known as “Elsie,” which replaces marriage. The trailer also includes voiceover scenes of the immensely powerful Yugure battling Owel, and Amor’s appearance, all accompanied by the music of “Platform.”

The key visual depicts Akira, Yugure, and Amor gathered under a sunset sky with a ruined city in the background. “Eternal Yugure” will premiere nationwide on 28 MBS and TBS affiliates on the “Super Animeism TURBO” slot at 12:26 AM on September 25th.

The first episode will be episode 0, with the first episode airing on October 2nd. Streaming will begin on various platforms after the broadcast. The full comments from Tomita and Uru are below. [Miyu Tomita (Amor’s role)] Q. Could you please tell us about the appeal of this series and your enthusiasm for being a part of it? I’m Miyu Tomita, and I’ll be playing Amor. Amor is cute for his age, hardworking, loves his parents, and is a very pure and straightforward boy. Recording the show always deeply moved me, and I thought a lot about love while playing Amor. I’m sure every episode will surprise you. I hope you’ll watch until the very end! [Uru (Opening Theme Song)] Q: Could you please tell us about your enthusiasm for performing the opening theme for the TV anime “Eternal Yugure” and share your thoughts on the song? In an era where diversity is being questioned, I’m pleased to be involved in the opening song for a series that offers us the opportunity to explore new forms. Reading the script, I enjoyed exploring the future of AI technology, which is already present in our everyday lives.

I also gained the conviction that love is love, and feelings for others never change, no matter what form it takes, and I put those honest, unadorned feelings directly into the song and lyrics. I hope that “Platform” will be a fun, energetic song that will encourage the characters in “Eternal Yugure,” as well as those who watch and listen to it. It has also been revealed that Miyu Tomita will be appearing in the film, and that the opening theme song will be “Platform” sung by singer Uru.
