It has been announced that the manga “Reiwa no Slave” will be adapted into a TV anime, scheduled to air in 2026. Suzuki Masato, known for “Magical Girl ni Kogarete,” will direct, and Asahi Productions will be in charge of animation production. A teaser video, teaser visual, and title logo were released alongside the announcement. A congratulatory illustration from the original author, Tomochika Haruomi, has also arrived.

“Reiwa no Slave” is a new-age occult comedy serialized by Tomochika Haruomi in “Kadocomi” and “Nico Nico Manga,” featuring a caring supernatural being and a lively Reiwa-era sibling. The story begins on a stormy day, when a landslide collapses a fence, leading the siblings to enter a place that has long been off-limits, where they encounter the terrifying supernatural being “Yamatagi Madara.” However, the siblings are not at all fazed by the strange, vengeful spirit, and instead grow attached to it, calling it “Dara-san”… and so the story unfolds. Volumes 1 through 6 of the manga are currently on sale, with the latest volume, Volume 7, due out on December 23rd.

A teaser trailer was released alongside the announcement of the TV anime adaptation, showcasing ominous footage, teaser visuals, and the title logo. What exactly is the true identity of the shrine enshrined in the forbidden land and the shadow reflected on the water’s surface? Anticipation for further news is building.

The main staff was also announced, revealing that Suzuki Masato of “Longing for a Magical Girl” will serve as director. Character design will be handled by Koichi Kikuta of the “KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World!” series, and animation production will be handled by Asahi Productions, which worked on “Longing for a Magical Girl” under Suzuki and Atsushi Otsuki. Original author Tomochika shared an illustration and commentary celebrating the anime adaptation, along with comments from director Suzuki and character designer Kikuta.
