The anime Rurouni Kenshin is based on the manga of the same name by Watsuki Nobuhiro, which has sold over 72 million copies worldwide. The previous anime series was broadcast in 1996, followed by OVAs and movies.
A new TV anime series with a completely new staff and cast was broadcast in July 2023. The first season consisted of 24 episodes. The second season is currently airing from October 2024.
Episode 32 Subtitle: “The Ten Swords: Hari”
Kenshin visits Aozora, the son of swordsmith Arai Sekisora, in search of a replacement for his broken reverse-edged sword, but Aozora has already stopped making swords. Respecting Aozora’s peace-loving views, Kenshin gives up on the request to make a sword. Meanwhile, at Shishio’s base, Sadojima Houji of the Ten Swords reports Kenshin’s movements to Shishio.
Sawada Joharu of the Ten Swords learns from their conversation that Sekisora’s last words have yet to be delivered to Kenshin, so he heads to the Aozora family.
