JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” is a masterpiece manga by Hirohiko Araki that has enjoyed immense popularity worldwide since its serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1986. The story depicts the blood ties and fate of the Joestar family, beginning with the meeting of two boys, Jonathan Joestar and Dio Brando.
The series has sold over 120 million copies, and its unique worldview has garnered passionate support across borders. The characters’ eccentric poses, unique onomatopoeia, and memorable lines symbolize the series’ overwhelming originality. The series has also been adapted into anime, games, musicals, and live-action films, garnering popularity.
The ninth installment, “The JoJo Lands,” is currently being serialized in Ultra Jump. “Steel Ball Run: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure,” an anime based on the seventh installment, “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run,” is set in 1890 in the United States and marks the first transcontinental horse race in human history. Johnny Joestar, once known as a genius jockey but now paralyzed and devastated, finds hope in a mysterious phenomenon caused by Gyro Zeppeli, a mysterious outlaw who is plotting to win the race, and decides to participate.
The two, each with their own agendas, form a cooperative relationship and embark on a rigorous adventure known as the “race.” The key visual for this work, created by character designer and animation director Daisuke Tsumagari, has just been released. The series will also have a booth at Jump Festa 2026, to be held at Makuhari Messe on December 20th and 21st.
A mini-stage will be held within the booth on both Day 1 and Day 2, featuring cast members including Shogo Sakata (Johnny Joestar), Yohei Azagami (Gyro Zeppeli), Kenta Miyake (Steven Steel), and Rie Takahashi (Lucy Steel). A stamp rally is also planned, taking place throughout Jump Festa. Participants in the stamp rally will receive an “SBR JF Participation Commemorative Flag.”
