This ranking, published by Filmarks at the end of each season, covers new anime broadcasts and streaming that began between June 1 and August 31, 2025. Data from the service as of October 1 was compiled and sorted by highest star score.
The top-ranking “Galaxy Express Milky Subway” is the sequel to “Milky Highway,” a short 3D anime series that garnered attention both domestically and internationally. In the previous film, Chiharu and Makina were arrested for violating the Galactic Road Traffic Act and were assigned to perform community service.
However, what should have been a simple mission takes an unexpected turn. Users who have watched the show have commented, “It’s great that you can watch it without having to worry about anything! I’m completely hooked on the cyborg boy.”
“The opening and ending are full of retro vibes, and the way the title comes in is always perfectly timed, which is amazing!” In second place is the mineral-themed “Ruri no Houseki,” which aired on NHK, with 4.34 stars. In fourth place is “Takopi no Original Sin,” which recorded 4.10 stars, but with 14,798 marks, it attracted far more attention than the others.
