by The premiere date for “Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity,” the first installment of the new special effects hero series “PROJECT RED,” launching within the “Super Sentai Series” framework, has been set for February 15, 2026. A spectacular space-themed main visual and a new promotional video, “Super Trailer II,” have also been released.
The newly released main visual features the spaceship “Cosmo Gavalion” floating against the backdrop of vast space, with Gavan Infinity standing in the distance, bathed in a dawning light. Also featured are Cosmo Gavalion units docked to various units, and we can’t wait to see how they perform in the premiere.
The new promotional video, “PROJECT RED: Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity Super Trailer II,” also offers a glimpse into the stylish coolness of the heroes and mecha in this series. Get a sneak peek at the worldview of this new hero. “PROJECT RED” is an acronym for “Records of Extraordinary Dimensions,” a Japanese translation of the English title “Cho Jigen Eiyuu Tan.” As the name suggests, this is a new special effects film series featuring a “red hero.”
The commemorative first installment, “Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity,” unfolds within the multiverse worldview, where the universe is not a single entity. In a multiverse of overlapping universes (“cosmolayers”), there exist other Earths that are identical to our own. The protagonist, Gavan Infinity, is a space sheriff who can transcend dimensions. What kind of cases will he solve across a diverse range of dimensions, and why is Gavan Infinity able to transcend dimensions? A new Gavan legend, never before seen, begins. This film features three space sheriffs.
Gavan Infinity loads his “rage” emorugia, “Gekido,” into his “Gavan Trigger” and activates the “Gavan System,” vaporizing a red combat suit. In addition to him, Gavan Bushido, who wears a silver combat suit and wields the “Sorrow” Emolgia “Hisoo,” and Gavan Luminous, who wears a gold combat suit and wields the “Joy” Emolgia “Kanki,” also appear. However, there is only one person in the universe who bears the title of “Gavan.” This means that there is another “Gavan” in a “different universe.” They are not a team, but space sheriffs operating in different dimensions. How will they intersect in the story? The spaceship “Cosmo Gabarion,” a key element of the story, was also unveiled for the first time.
The Cosmo Gabarion, which floats behind the hero in the main visual, is capable of dimensional transcendence (“D-Jump”) to another universe and can transform into the giant robot “Cosmo Gabarion GC-R” in an emergency. It will be interesting to see how it will perform in the story. In this film, Gavan and the others are vaporized by the power of “Emolgia,” an item containing “Emolgi,” a special energy life form that responds to human emotions. Meanwhile, Emolgia, reacting to the malicious criminals’ negative emotions, also generates immense power.
The Space Sheriffs must fight day and night against criminals who exploit Emolgia. The story’s script will be written by Atsuhiro Tomioka, a master of hobby anime who served as the primary writer for “Bakujo Sentai Bunbunger” (2024), creating captivating characters and memorable episodes. Hirofumi Fukuzawa will direct the first episode. Since his suit role as Gao Red in “Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger” (2001), Fukuzawa has played numerous Reds in the “Super Sentai” series and has recently been active as an action director and director.
This marks his first time participating in a production as pilot director. Anticipation is building for the visuals Fukuzawa will create in the new “PROJECT RED” series.
