Kaiju No. 8, a hugely popular manga by Naoya Matsumoto, has been serialized in Shonen Jump+ since July 2020. It has won numerous manga awards and has sold over 18 million copies in Japan (including digital versions) with 15 volumes published to date. Its popularity is not limited to Japan, but has also garnered many fans overseas, including in North America.
The story begins when the protagonist, Hibino Kafka (voiced by Fukunishi Katsuya), who dreams of joining the “Japan Defense Force” that fights monsters, is awakened by a mysterious small monster to the power to transform himself into a monster.
Episode 21 “Omen”
To learn a fighting style that doesn’t rely on the power of Monster No. 8, Kafka is personally taught the Defense Force’s fighting techniques by Hoshina. Coincidentally, these are the same tactics perfected by Isao. During his training days, Kafka receives his cell phone back and gets a message from his classmates for the first time in a long while. Meanwhile, the Defense Force’s upper echelons are busy dealing with the frequent unsolved monster incidents occurring across Japan.

It has been announced that ABEMA will broadcast a special program looking back at the history of the anime “Kaiju No. 8,” titled “Fight, Swarm!” “Kaiju No. 8″ Season 2 ABEMA Special!” from 8 pm on 　Saturday, September 20th.
The main cast, including Fukunishi Katsuya (Hibino Kafka/Kaiju No. 8), Fairouz Ai (Shinomiya Kikoru), Kawanishi Kengo (Hoshina Soshiro), and Uchiyama Kouki (Narumi Gen), will gather together to look back on the story so far of the second season of “Kaiju No. 8,” including behind-the-scenes stories from the dubbing.
In addition to introducing highlights of the upcoming battle with “Kaiju No. 9” and others, there will also be an ABEMA special edition of the popular “Kaiju No. 8” official SNS project, “Can you do it in 8 seconds? Challenge!” The cast members will take on various missions “in 8 seconds”.
