The manga “Ruri Dragon ” (originally written by Masaoki Mato), which is serialized every other issue in the digital edition of “Weekly Shonen Jump,” has been announced for a TV anime adaptation. It will be produced by Kyoto Animation, known for One Morning, in which a high school student wakes up to find a horn growing out of her head! Her mother tells her that it might be genetic, since her father is a dragon. Confused, Ruri heads to school anyway. Not only are her classmates curious about her unfamiliar horn, but it’s also revealed that she has another dragon-like trait!? A slight twist in her everyday life.
This depicts the daily life of dragon girl Ruri. The TV anime adaptation of this work was recently announced with a video on the official Ruri Dragon website. In the unreleased footage, Ruri, dressed exactly as she was on the cover of the first volume of the manga, turns around in surprise after receiving a tap on her shoulder.
The illustration also features Ruri in a familiar pose from the original work, marking the unveiling of Ruri as drawn by Kyoto Animation. An original illustration and message from the original author, Masaoki Mato, was also released. “Thank you for rereading Ruri Dragon this year. I particularly like Hyouka, a Kyoto Animation work, and the school festival part in particular, which shifts among multiple perspectives and is the most enjoyable. My favorite part is the whole story of Houtarou tending the store. Even though he’s just sitting there!! This manga is being made into an anime by Kyoto Animation,” he said, expressing his joy.
