The latest revenue for the utterly new movie “Haikyu!! The Movie Battle at the Garbage Dump” (released on February 16th) based on the anime “Haikyu!!” has been announced. The new sequel to the 4th season of the TV anime “Haikyu!! TO THE TOP”, broadcast in 2020, will be produced as a two-part movie version. The first part depicts one of the most famous episodes in the original work, the 3rd round of Haru High School, the battle between Karasuno High School and Nekoma High School, commonly known as the “Battle at the Garbage Dump,” and the 4th season “Haikyuu” The movie version depicts the episode following the Inarizaki High School match depicted in “!! TO THE TOP”.
“Haikyu!!” is based on the manga of the same name that was serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” (Shueisha) from February 2012 to July 2020 and is a youth story based on high school volleyball. Set in Miyagi Prefecture, the main character, Shoyo Hinata, who belongs to the prefectural Karasuno High School volleyball club, aims to become the former volleyball club’s ace, the “little giant,” and Kageyama Tobio, a genius setter known as the “king on the court.” It is a story about growing up through friendly competition with friends.
The cumulative circulation of the comics has exceeded 60 million copies, and the first season of the TV anime aired in 2014, the second season in 2015, the third season in 2016, and the fourth season in 2020.
