Panasonic Group’s experiential pavilion, Nomo no Kuni, will be exhibited at the 2025 Japan International Expo ( Osaka-Kansai Expo ), which will be held in Yumeshima, Osaka, from April. In conjunction with this, Panasonic’s original anime “Nomo no Kuni” was released on the unique website for Nomo no Kuni today, March 28th.
The anime’s setting is Nomo no Kuni, a mysterious country where “hearts” are projected. Sora, a girl who has become afraid of singing in front of others due to a particular incident, and her younger brother Daichi reach the edge of a pond called Kagamiike, where they fall into the pond together.
The two are drawn into a mysterious world, and a slightly unusual girl named Rococo appears before them. Sora and Daichi set out on an adventure around Nomo no Kuni with Rococo, and Sora eventually faces the various feelings he had kept locked away in his heart. The animation was produced by Monofilmo, which is active in Japan and France. Ichinose Kana will play Sora, Han Megumi will play Daichi, and Yuki Aoi will play Rococo.
The theme song is “Dreams are Wings” by Ohara Sakurako. The lyrics are by Mori Yukinojo, and the music is by Hattori Takayuki. Comments have arrived from Ichinose, Han, Yuki, and Ohara. In addition to interview videos with the voice actors, the unique website for “Nomo no Kuni” also has a video in which the theme song production team talks about the thoughts they put into the song.
Comment from Ichinose Kana (Sora) Ichinose Kana, who plays Sora. I thought the most important thing was being honest with your feelings. When you think about what you want to do or what you want to say, take a step forward and say it, and I think the world you see will change little by little. Try being honest with your feelings. Please watch the original animation “Nomo Country.”
Comment from Megumi Han (role of Daichi): I’m Megumi Han and will play Daichi. I hope that anyone can have the freedom to pursue what they like and have dreams. So I faced Daichi, hoping that this film, “Nomo Country,” would be a work that would touch everyone’s hearts. I’m sure dreams, hopes, and warm things will be nurtured. Please watch it.
Comment from Sakurako Ohara: When I heard about the role, I thought it was big. After seeing this project and other things, there is a scene where this song plays when the children are having fun, so I imagined that today and sang it with a strong desire to give children dreams, and I was excited. I was drawn to the message of this song and the dynamic melody, and I thought that it was a song that made me feel more energetic after singing it than before.
When you encounter difficulties or obstacles in what you want to do, you may think that you are not suited to it, that you should give up, or that you should look for another path. I believe there are obstacles at any time. I hope you enjoy overcoming those obstacles and making your dreams come true.
Mori Yukinojo’s comment: The theme itself was very poetic, so I thought it would overlap with my thoughts about people who write poetry. When I heard the story, I felt I could write a good piece.
The heart is something that cannot be seen. For example, I turn it into poetry, and Hattori Takayuki turns it into melodies. People give shape to their hearts, wishes, and thoughts, so I wrote this piece hoping to turn my thoughts when I realized the awakening of such things and the positional relationship between myself and the world into poetry.
The first thing to do is try it. I think it’s okay to fail. Even if failure comes back negative, there may be a moment when that negative will look positive, so trying what you want to do is essential, even as times change.
Comments from Hattori Takayuki: As I made various things this time, I initially wrote the song, assuming it would only be up-tempo. Still, I gradually came to understand the worldview of the anime. In the case of the anime, the ballad part is played as the theme song, and the part about how things are in your mind is exactly like that, so I think I could express a little bit of the theme of this time in music as well.
The melody line is thick, easy to understand, and not detailed, but each note is one character. I made the song with that feeling, and I hope some people naturally push the backs of those living.
Children today are already exceptional. They have a lot of abilities that I don’t have, and the themes of this are “Unlock your nature” and “Free yourself,” but I don’t force them. Everyone is living with their individuality. Whether good or bad, it’s taking it is. Ori is ooriginalanimation: “Nomo no Kuni.”
