The second season of the anime ‘Ranma 1/2’ will begin airing on NTV on October 4th! Kazuhiko Inoue, Ako Mayama, and Akira Ishida join the cast.

Broadcast information for the second season of the TV anime ” Ranma 1/2 ” has been released. It will begin airing on Nippon TV every Saturday from 24:55 starting Saturday, October 4th. It will also be available exclusively on Netflix immediately after broadcast.

Along with this announcement, it has been decided that Inoue Kazuhiko (as Happosai), Mayama Ako (as Colon), and Ishida Akira (as Gosunkugi Hikaru) will appear as additional cast members. Cast comments have also been released. Information on the characters that the three will play has also been released, including character visuals by character designer Taniguchi Hiromi, as well as profiles for each character.

Information on the theme songs has also been released, with Wednesday Campanella’s “Wo Ai Ni” as the opening theme and Nishina’s “Panda Girl” as the ending theme. Wednesday Campanella commented, “We incorporated the atmosphere of the original work while mixing in terms from mahjong and cooking to create a catchy, fun feel.” Nishina said, “We aimed for a song that would make you look forward to the next episode.”

Additionally, a digest movie looking back on the first season of the anime has been released. It features newly recorded narration by Saotome Ranma (voiced by Yamaguchi Kappei) and Ranma (voiced by Hayashibara Megumi), and the story can be reviewed in approximately four and a half minutes. An advance screening of the second season has also been scheduled for October 4th at United Cinema Toyosu, where Yamaguchi Kappei and Hidaka Noriko will be appearing on stage.
