On October 7th, it was announced that a second season of the TV anime ” Nigejou no Wakakun” (The Master of Escape ), based on the manga by Matsui Yusei, who is known for “Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro” and “Assassination Classroom,” will be produced.
A “letter announcing the decision to produce a second season” by calligrapher Maeda Kamatari was also made public. The dynamic calligraphy is designed with the Hojo family crest in the background.
“The Young Master Who Runs Away” is a story of escape based on the historical facts of the wandering, hiding, and counterattack of the “young warlord who is good at running away” Hojo Tokiyuki.
In 1333, the Kamakura Shogunate was destroyed by a sudden rebellion, and the boy Hojo Tokiyuki, who was supposed to be the successor to the Shogunate, was invited by the Shinano Province priest Suwa Yorishige to escape and start his path to becoming a hero. It began in January 2021 in “Weekly Shonen Jump” as Matsui’s new series for the first time in about five years since “Assassination Classroom.”
The comic has been released up to volume 17, and the total number of copies published is over 3 million. The latest volume, 18, will be released on December 4th.
The first season of the TV anime aired from July to September. The anime was directed by Yuta Yamazaki, who has worked on “Wonder Egg Priority” and other series, and produced by CloverWorks, who also worked on “Bocchi the Rock!”. New voice actor Asaki Yukawa played the main character, Tokiyuki Hojo. This is Yukawa’s first time starring in a TV anime.
