It has been announced that Mai Tanaka’s “Yokai Gakko no Sensei Hajimemashita!” will be made into a TV anime in 2024.
“I Begin as a Teacher at a Yokai School!” is about Abe Haruaki, a crybaby and clumsy new teacher who becomes his dream teacher but transfers to Hyakki Gakuen. In this school, youkai from all over Japan gather. It is a comedy that starts from the beginning.
The story depicts Seimei being surrounded and tossed around by demons such as the plague god, gashadokuro, and one-eyed boy for his students, and Shuten Doji and Kamaitachi for his fellow teachers. The work is being serialized in Monthly G Fantasy (Square Enix) and will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2024.
Illustrations drawn by Tanaka will also be released. Seimei, smiling and holding out his hand, is the centerpiece of a group of characters, including Sano Mikoto, the sadistic god of plague, and Beniko Zashiki, the geeky girl with glasses.
The January issue of Monthly G Fantasy, released on December 18th, celebrates the anime adaptation with the cover and center color of the center spread. You can enjoy the reactions of the members of the Ninen-sengumi upon hearing the news of the anime adaptation.
Tanaka expressed his gratitude to his readers, saying, It is because of the support of our readers that we were able to continue serializing Anonymous Newcomer’s first series for about ten years and even make it into an anime.” He said, “I will do my best to make the manga more interesting, so please continue supporting Yohaji”!” while conveying that the anime is currently in production.
